The Square & Compass Inn

Introduction

There has been a pub at Windmill Hill for around 200 years. The owners, Chris and Janet Slow, are celebrating entering their 20th year and in that time have built up a reputation for very good food and drink in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The pub is run in a relaxed, informal manner allowing you to enjoy a drink, some food or celebrate a special occasion in the Barn, a separate venue behind the Square and Compass.

The Barn, in the generous garden grounds behind the pub, offers the perfect venue for weddings, conferences and parties set in beautiful Somerset countryside. Large gardens, seating and modern facilities make the Barn suitable for all manner of occasions.

Situated between Taunton and Ilminster and within easy reach of Lyme Regis and The Jurassic Coast (18 miles), the Square and Compass is set in it’s own large grounds. Overlooking the Blackdown Hills it is surrounded by rolling fields and beautiful countryside. The Blackdown Hills is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Find us on the map.
