Quite simply, the most amazing day of our lives! The Barn looked beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff worked hard to ensure our day was perfect. Stunning venue with beautiful countryside views and a relaxed fun filled atmosphere, what more could we have possibly asked for?! We loved every second of it! I can't thank everyone at the Square and Compass enough for all of their effort and hard work to make our day what it was. Again, simply perfect! Thank you.
I wanted to write and thank you for providing us with an amazing wedding venue, the food was outstanding, every single guest complimented you on it, such a variety of great food, and there was so much of it!! Please, please pass on our thanks to your staff who are a huge credit to you, they we're so polite, professional and patient, even into the early hours! They really couldn't do enough for us and all our guests and we really felt looked after. It was so great for us and our family to stay in the lodges too, the accommodation was beautiful, spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfortable, the beautiful breakfast was most welcome. I'd like to thank you both for putting up with what must be the most unorganised bride and Groom you've had, you've helped us so much with organising the DJ, decorating the venue, and probably a hundred other things I don't even realise, you made our day perfect and stress free thank you so much.
Thank you so much for helping us have such a happy wedding day! Everything was wonderful, the food and the helpfulness of the staff especially. The whole day was fantastic and the Square and Compass is an ideal location for a celebration. Thank you all for making it all run so smoothly.

Just a quick note to you all to say a huge thank you for making our special day so special. We have had lots of comments praising The Barn as a venue and fab food you put on for us. Thank you for accommodating the extra family members which came for breakfast on the Sunday- a lot had travelled so was nice to catch up over breakfast. A special thank you to your barn manager, she was very helpful, had a great eye for detail and 'went the extra mile' when our friends were unable to get a taxi and dropped them off at the travel lodge on her way home. Our band "The Moonloungers" have written up an article on their website and a Bristol based gig guide rating your venue highly! Thanks all once again.
We would just like to say thank you to you and your staff for making our wedding day on 17th September so special. Everything turned out exactly how we wanted it to and the food was amazing, more than one of our guests commented on how good both the wedding breakfast and evening food was. We both felt very well looked after and just as special as anyone should on their wedding day, everyone was faultless. I am sure we will be in soon for a meal! Thanks again.

Sorry it's taken so long for us to write and thank you for making our wedding day so special. The day was everything we could have hoped for and more and so much of that was due to your excellent staff, fabulous organisation and of course, the incredible food! People are still raving about the banoffee pie and the amazing quality and quantity of the food- thank you so much. Thanks as well for making the venue look so fabulous in challenging circumstances- we really appreciated it. We are writing on behalf of Nathan and Amy and our families to thank you for all you and your team did to make their wedding such a memorable occasion. It only seems moments ago that we first saw The Barn and months of planning were ahead of us all. The time and attention to detail you gave was truly appreciated. Come the day the fact you were up early doors clearing the car park of snow demonstrates the fantastic personal touch you brought to the day even dropping everything to help to rescue our stranded bridesmaids. The reception, once all could get there, was a triumph, the food wonderful, delicious and so much! So many of our guests have said they have never seen so much quality and quantity…thank you. The decorations and flowers made for a magical setting for us all to savour the day with the brass band and even Father Christmas adding to the festive fun. I am just disappointed you were not around to join in the rendition of the twelve days of Christmas! Once again on behalf of all of us many, many thanks, we will be recommending you constantly.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge "Thank you" for making my daughter Jacky's wedding such a great success. I know that both Jacky and Pete had a wonderful day and one they will never forget. I have spoken to lots of the guests since the wedding and they have had nothing but praise for the whole day. Andres and I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for the beautiful wedding reception you helped provide for us and our guests. All of our friends and family continue to tell us about the lovely evening they all enjoyed at the Square and Compass. The food was absolutely outstanding and even better than what we had imagined (I only wish I could have ate more! I certainly snuck in a slice of banoffee pie before sneaking out with my new husband) And the lighting was spot on, from the candle holders on the buffet table, -which added such a lovely romantic effect to some of our first dance photographs- to the funky disco flower lights that shone throughout the party (I'm sorry I doubted you about those Chris). The flowers that your florist Jenny arranged for us were exactly what I wanted as well. She did such a lovely job and was so considerate with all the little details I requested. I was taken aback when I heard that she actually went through the trouble of picking the greenery, the lilacs and even bluebells from her garden when I told her that I preferred locally grown flowers. I will always appreciate that. We would certainly recommend the Square and Compass to any couple wishing to throw a very relaxed, simple yet elegant wedding reception. In such a lovely location like Windmill Hill in Somerset, The Barn is right in the middle of the warm countryside atmosphere that we hoped for. Even with the cold grey weather we were blessed with on that day, your venue provided the cosy outdoor feeling that we all wanted to escape to. Please extend our thanks to your wonderful staff as well. We look forward to seeing you all again for perhaps an anniversary party!

Yourselves and your staff, in particular Amanda, worked tirelessly to produce a beautiful wedding venue in the barn, idyllic surroundings, some of the best food our guests have ever had and a gracious service to everyone from 1pm to 1am.
We had a friend at our wedding who owns two hotels in Wales that provide wedding breakfast services. He was our benchmark in terms of quality. He could not get enough of the food, to the extent that his wife was instructing him not to have any more main course or sweet to ensure he would fit into his suit the following day! He managed to sneak two massive helpings of each and stood afterwards like a guilty schoolboy knowing he did wrong but inside was happy!
We cannot praise you highly enough, echoed by every one of our 150 guests. We look forward to enjoying many more meals and futute events at your venue.
